Multimodal Experience Fusion · R&D

Bring what peoplesay and how theyrespond into thesame study.

Multimodal Experience Fusion brings surveys and open-ended feedback together with facial-expression, voice, and movement data within the same research context. The aim is not to draw conclusions from a single signal, but to examine where different data sources converge and where they diverge.

Why It Matters

Experience is not captured by self-report alone.

People can rate an experience or describe it in their own words. In appropriate research settings, facial-expression patterns, voice features, and movement patterns can add another layer of information about the moment in which that experience occurred. These sources do not replace self-reported feedback; they complement it.

Mechanism

A connected system from measurement to action.

Surveys and open-ended feedback

Capture how participants evaluate and describe the experience in their own words.

Facial-expression data

Enable the study of facial movement and expression patterns during the research experience.

Voice data

Enable analysis of vocal features such as tone and rhythm within the research context.

Movement data

Can help examine movement, flow, and waiting patterns around a relevant environment or touchpoint.

Different data sources are aligned to the same experience context.

Analyzed within the same research context

The aim is not to produce an automatic “emotion score”. It is to give researchers a richer basis for interpretation.

It can support different experience studies when the research design calls for it.

Service experience

Examine self-reported feedback alongside other data captured around specific service touchpoints.

Product and digital experience

Compare self-report with facial, vocal, or movement data while people interact with a product, interface, or piece of content.

Communication research

Study stated responses alongside other reactions to advertising, messaging, or content.

Use depends on the research question, data type, technical setting, and required permissions.

Scientific and ethical boundary

Designed to study experience, not to track people.

  • No individual facial recognition or identity tracking as a research objective.

  • No definitive emotion judgment from a single facial, vocal, or movement signal.

  • Data minimization and required permissions are part of the research design.

  • Findings are reported at an appropriate level of aggregation for the use case.
